Juneteenth Flag

Mark Juneteenth with OMA and free red cupcakes

Commemorate Juneteenth with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and a free cupcake from The Sweet Fix Bakery, a Black-owned local business in Cleveland Heights. The cupcakes, and many other foods associated with Juneteenth, will be red to symbolize the bloodshed and resilience of the enslaved and serve as a symbol of ingenuity and resilience in bondage.

Juneteenth represents more than just the abolition of slavery; it signifies the years of oppression and delaying of rights and justice that Black people in the U.S. have suffered, and still suffer today.

Cupcakes will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 409 of the Sears Building, or as long as supplies last. More information is available on CampusGroups.
