Message from Provost Vinson: Celebrate CWRU’s history with Legacy Week

To the campus of Case Western Reserve University:

Welcome to Legacy Week! This week we celebrate the unique history of Case Western Reserve University. While Legacy Week itself is young, celebrating just its third year, it stands today as a reflection of our longstanding history, a testament to our remarkable birth as an institution, and as a summation of our own unique story.

As an historian, this week holds a special place in my own mind and heart. It is a week when we celebrate our Nobel Laureates and remember significant research findings. It is a week when we encourage student organizations to celebrate their place in the history of our university, and to reflect on the moments that brought them together. It is a week when each department, college and professional school celebrates their own unique history.

But more so, Legacy Week is a time to gather as a university community in a celebration of campus pride and school spirit.

While this year’s Legacy Week may be a bit different from those in the past, it is no less important. I encourage you, in your own ways, to reflect on what CWRU means to you, to learn about our campus and engage in our deep history.

To learn more about Legacy Week, visit the Office of Student Activities & Leadership on Instagram or Facebook. We invite you to participate in daily trivia contests to win a special edition Spartie bobblehead, and to read special features in The Daily to learn more about what makes Case Western Reserve University so special.

Finally, we also invite you to celebrate the annual tradition of the Hudson Relays… At home! Please visit the Division of Student Affairs for full details and to register.

Sincerely,

Ben Vinson III
Provost and Executive Vice President
