The student group Young Americans for Liberty will celebrate Constitution Week—Sept. 15-20—with activities taking place each day.
The activities kick off with a Tri-partisan Barbeque Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Leutner Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with political groups on campus. Burgers will be provided.
On Monday, Sept. 16, there will be chalking all over campus commemorating the Bill of Rights.
On Tuesday, Sept. 17—Constitution Day—free copies of the Constitution will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Kelvin Smith Library oval.
That evening, Jonathan Adler, the Johan Verheij Memorial Professor of Law, will present “How Health Care Reform (Almost) Killed the Constitution” in the Bellflower Lounge of Thwing Center at 7:30 p.m. This lecture will focus on how health care reform relates to the constitution. Pizza and beverages will be provided.
From Sept. 18-20, students are invited to express their thoughts on the “free speech wall” at the Kelvin Smith Library oval.
Young Americans for Liberty welcomes all students to join in its celebration of Constitution Week.
