Celebrate appointment of Robert X. Gao to endowed professorship, department chair

gao_photo_mar2015_0The Case School of Engineering recently appointed Robert X. Gao as the Cady Staley Professor of Engineering and the chair of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Gao joins Case Western Reserve University from the University of Connecticut. There, he served as the Pratt and Whitney Chair Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for seven years. His research focuses on the areas of physics-based sensing methodology; design, modeling, and characterization of measurement systems; multi-resolution data analysis; and energy-efficient sensor networks.

To celebrate Gao’s appointment, the engineering school will host a reception Thursday, Sept. 24, at 4:30 p.m. in the Nord Hall atrium. RSVP to lauren-angela@case.edu.
