University Technology ([U]Tech) will host a celebration to recognize the 2015-16 Active Learning Fellows and to open the doors of [U]Tech’s new creative workspace for visitors to see.
The celebration will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Sears Building, Room 200.
The Active Learning Fellowship is a professional development program for CWRU faculty wanting to modify and enhance their instructional practices. The Active Learning Fellowship program investigates and develops pedagogical practices that encourage and even mandate active involvement by both the instructor and the students.
The 2015-16 fellows were asked to redesign a class they have previously taught using active learning instructional methods, including the use of pedagogical strategies to encourage collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving.
