Case Western Reserve University to offer free dental exams Jan. 11

The Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine will offer free dental exams, X-rays, cleaning and oral cancer screenings Saturday, Jan. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Patients must be at least 18 years old and cannot be a current dental clinic patient or have full dentures. The clinic is at 2124 Cornell Road. No appointment is necessary.

Students from the dental school’s student council have organized the day of public service, known as “Prophy Day,” said Council President Reya Das. For more than 20 years, volunteer dental faculty and student dentists have provided this day of free services. Faculty members oversee the students as they perform exams.

Patients with certain dental needs may qualify for additional free or extensively reduced services. Participants who choose to become regular dental school patients receive a $20 voucher toward the admitting cost for a follow-up visit to the clinic.
