Mandel School researchers published in The Journal of Community Practice

The Journal of Community Practice published an article, titled “Toward authentic university-community engagement,” written by researchers from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.

Authors of the article are: Mark G. Chupp, an associate professor at the Mandel School and the founding director of the Community Innovation Network; Adrianne M. Fletcher, assistant dean of diversity and inclusion at the Mandel School; and James P. Graulty, program manager of the Community Innovation Network at the Mandel School.

In the publication, which appeared Nov. 1, the authors propose a model of authentic university-community engagement that builds reciprocity and trust between members of the community and university and increases their capacity to collaboratively problem-solve.
