Case Water Initiative celebrates World Water Day with Instagram Photo Challenge

Beginning today in honor of World Water Day, the Case Water Initiative will host an Instagram photo challenge for students. Students can post photos of water sports, days by the lake, research in a lab, study abroad, rainy days—anything related to water—using hashtags #Case4Water, #CWRU and #CWRUThinkEnergy to enter the competition.

Cash prizes of $75, $50 and $25 will be awarded for the best submissions as ranked by judges and number of likes on Instagram.

All members of the CWRU community are encouraged to participate and share photos, but prizes are reserved for students.

The competition will run from today (March 22) through Earth Day (April 22).

About the Case Water Initiative

The Case Water Initiative is a provost-sponsored Seed Sprint led by the Great Lakes Energy Institute and the Institute for Smart, Secure and Connected Systems, which explores water at CWRU.

For over a decade, water has been identified as a potential new direction for research and scholarship at CWRU. The National Academy of Engineering cites access to clean water as a grand challenge. Issues such as algal blooms in Lake Erie and deteriorating water infrastructure in legacy cities are particularly important to our community in Cleveland and the Great Lakes region.

The Case Water Initiative will host several events throughout the competition. Further details to follow.
