Case Amateur Radio Club’s annual Field Day is this weekend at Squire Valleevue Farm’s Pink Pig

Case Amateur Radio Club W8EDU will participate in ARRL Field Day Saturday-Sunday June 24-25. Club members will build a temporary shortwave radio station run off-grid to simulate a communications emergency and operate the station from 2:00 PM Saturday to 2:00 PM Sunday, contacting as many other amateur radio stations as possible. Radio amateurs all over the world will be participating, and the club anticipates making about 1000 contacts.

Join us to operate the station, have a ham radio dinner (at least partly vegetarian!), talk about amateur radio, take a radio license exam, and enjoy a hike at the farm. If you would like to help string wire antennas in the trees, come with work gloves Friday starting about 10:00 AM. If you’ll be joining for meals, let us know so we can work out food planning. Email w8edu@case.edu.
