Gastrointestinal cancers target of $11.3 million grant to CWRU
The Plain Dealer: An $11.3 million grant from the National Cancer Institute will create a top-level research center for the prevention and cure of gastrointestinal cancers. “We hope that ultimately the research that is done in this center is going to impact people everywhere, but we’re particularly gratified that the people who will be affected most immediately are here in Cleveland,” said Sanford Markowitz, the Dr. Sanford Markowitz/Frances Wragg Ingalls Professor of Cancer Genetics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and a medical oncologist at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.
