Cleveland children will have more books to read, thanks to the efforts of the Wellness Champions.
This volunteer group of faculty and staff, supported by the Wellness Program, hosted a book drive last month. With the community’s help, the group collected six cartons of books to donate to the Cleveland Kid’s Book Bank.
The book drive represented the champions’ first service project, with more expected to come throughout the year. Check the service project site to get more information.
Beyond service projects, the team of volunteers aims to promote health and wellness programs on campus through such activities as serving as captains for campuswide wellness contests, finding wellness success stories and attending quarterly meetings/lunches.
Champions also are encouraged to come up with new wellness incentives, start an initiative within their work group, volunteer at events and more.
