Campus forums scheduled to discuss Diversity & Inclusion External Review Report

The Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity (OIDEO) will host two more open forums to gather feedback from the university community on the recently released External Review Report and Recommendations (PDF). The first open forum was held May 17.

The report was commissioned by the OIDEO as part of the development of the 2016-2019 Diversity Strategic Action Plan (DSAP). A three-member team of diversity leaders from other universities visited campus in February to assess the overall efforts of CWRU in achieving its equity, diversity and inclusion goals. While on campus, the team met with various groups and constituents from across campus, and the report details several of the themes of those conversations and offers recommendations for next steps.

As the report indicates, the Staff Advisory Council (SAC) provided a written summary of their responses to the External Review Team questions.

The remaining forums will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center, Ballroom C, on:

  • Tuesday, June 28, and
  • Tuesday, Sept. 27.

In addition to feedback on the report, the forums will provide an opportunity to make suggestions for the upcoming DSAP.

The forums are open to the entire university community, and participants are strongly encouraged to review the report online before attending a forum. The report (PDF), as well as the SAC written responses to the consultants’ questions (PDF), are available on the OIDEO homepage at In addition, individuals can provide feedback about the report online by sending their comments to
