Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are invited to join the Graduate Studies Professional Development Center for a business networking etiquette seminar Monday, Nov. 21, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Thwing Center ballroom.
Sandy Hyde, president and founder of the Etiquette School of Ohio, will lead the interactive seminar.
Attendees will learn about:
- Introductions;
- Having a plan/setting goals;
- Working a room;
- Non-verbal communication awareness;
- Remembering names;
- Nametags;
- Shaking hands;
- Exchanging business cards;
- Conversation skills;
- Follow up;
- Building a contact network; and
- Holding a beverage glass and plate while standing at a cocktail party.
Participants should be in business casual attire.
Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served.
