“Building Black Avenue: How Youth Voices are Shaping the Development of Cleveland’s East 66th Street”

Join Daniel Gray-Kontar (director of Twelve Literary Arts) and Mary Barrett, Tiyana Williams, Isaiah Pritchard and Keith Benford Jr., members of the Youth Development Council, for an interactive presentation about the creation of the new “Black Avenue” along E. 66th Street and the integral role that teens are playing in its development. 

“Building Black Avenue: How Youth Voices are Shaping the Development of Cleveland’s East 66th Street” will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. 

Hear how the built environment has shaped the youths’ lives and their understanding of the neighborhood, learn how the act of collecting stories from residents and elders in strengthening intergenerational trust and respect, and discover their vision for the new Black Avenue. Following the discussion, attendees will be invited to ask questions and share their own ideas for community development in Hough.
