The Plain Dealer: A recent report showed grim breast cancer statistics for Northeast Ohio, proving that early detection matters. Katherine Lee, assistant professor of surgery at Lerner College of Medicine, said 98 percent of women whose cancers are detected early and confined to the breast will leave at least five years or longer.
