Two books edited by faculty members at the France Payne Bolton School of Nursing took third place in their respective categories for the 2018 Book of the Year Awards from the American Journal of Nursing.
The book Self-Neglect in Older Adults: A Global, Evidence-Based Resource for Nurses and Other Health Care Providers, edited by Joyce J. Fitzpatrick, the Elizabeth Brooks Ford Professor of Nursing, Geraldine McCarthy, an alumna, and Mary Rose Day of University College Cork, won third place in the gerontologic nursing category.
In the category of medical-surgical nursing, A Guide to Mastery in Clinical Nursing: The Comprehensive Reference won third place. Fitzpatrick; Celeste M. Alfes, director of the Center for Nursing Education, Simulation and Innovation and associate professor of nursing; and Ronald L. Hickman Jr., associate dean for research and associate professor at the School of Nursing, edited the book.
