Provost and Executive Vice President Ben Vinson III’s book Before Mestizaje: The Frontiers of Race and Caste in Colonial Mexico was recently recognized by the Latin American Studies Association.
The association named the book the recipient of the 2019 Howard F. Cline Book Prize in Mexican History.
Provost Vinson will be honored at the association’s XXXVII International Congress, Friday, May 24.
