The CWRU Postdoc Association‘s Professional Development Committee has organized the inaugural Biophysics Day. Open to all, this event will be held Wednesday, March 20, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Wolstein Research Building.
The event will have the following schedule:
- 12:30 p.m.: Light food and drinks served
- 1 p.m.: Lydia Kisley, assistant professor of physics and chemistry, will present “Super-resolution fluorescence imaging of extracellular environments”
- 2 p.m.: Networking event
- 3 p.m.: Flash talks
- 4 p.m.: Raffle drawing and closing remarks from Walter Boron, Distinguished University Professor and chair of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics
The flask talks will allow individuals to give a 3-minute presentation in any discipline using one slide. Audience members will vote on their favorites, with the top three presenters receiving a certificate and $100 prize.
For every event individuals attend (Kisley’s research talk, networking event and flask talks), they will receive an entry ticket for the raffle prize.

The Biophysics Day event will be sponsored by the CWRU Department of Physiology and Biophysics, CWRU Interschool Quantitative Biosciences Program, CWRU Postdoctoral Association and CWRU Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
