Diabetes meds like Ozempic, Mounjaro might also lower risks for colon cancer
U.S. News & World Report: Rong Xu, professor of biomedical informatics at the School of Medicine, discussed her new research finding that people with diabetes who took one of these drugs had lower odds for colon cancer than those who took diabetes meds such as metformin or insulin. “To our knowledge, this is the first indication that this popular weight-loss and anti-diabetic class of drugs reduces incidence of colorectal cancer, relative to other anti-diabetic agents,” she said.
