Anant Madabhushi, professor of biomedical engineering and director of the Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics, was awarded a R21 grant from the National Cancer Institute to study predicting aggressive head and neck cancers from digital pathology.
His project is titled “Histologic image-based aggressiveness prediction in p16+ oropharyngeal carcinoma.”
The focus of this two-year, $386,000 project is to develop computerized image analysis tools for identifying patterns connecting to aggressive behavior from digitized tissue slides images of p16+.
