Biology’s Mike Benard discusses study on environmental impact on frog’s immune system

A tiny tree frog provides clues to environmental changes that threaten all amphibians
The Plain Dealer: Mike Benard, associate professor of biology, discussed his research team’s findings revealing the impact man-made changes to the environment have on the cricket frog’s immune system. “This study suggests that changes we are making to the environment have the potential to make animals more susceptible to diseases and therefore may lead to population declines,” Benard said.
