The ‘murder hornet’ finally has a good name

Mashable: Mark Willis, professor and chair of the Department of Biology, talked about the northern giant hornet—formerly known as the “murder hornet” before the Entomological Society of America announced its common name change.  “This is definitely an animal we don’t want in North America, if we can avoid it,” he said.
