Biology’s Jessica Fox talks about annual invasion of midges

Swarms of midges in Northeast Ohio detected on weather radar
WEWSJessica Fox, professor of biology, discussed the annual invasion of midges—the tiny mosquito-like flies—on the shores of Lake Erie. The swarms can even be seen on weather radar. “These clouds of midges only last a little while, but you can see midges throughout the summertime and we’ll see the clouds again in the fall when the lake cools down to the same temperature,” said Fox.
