Case Western Reserve insulin research may mean key to better, new treatments for diabetics

The Plain Dealer: As a part of an international team, researchers at Case Western Reserve University have discovered how insulin interacts with cells. “These findings carry profound implications for diabetes patients,” said Michael Weiss, chair of the Department of Biochemistry. “Short term, this will mean making better insulin. Long term, it could mean getting rid of needles and pumps altogether.”
