Bilingual, native Spanish speakers needed for hearing research

The Speech and Auditory Research Lab at Case Western Reserve University is currently recruiting adults between the ages of 18-40 years old who speak English as their second language and Spanish as their first language. Test subjects will help us learn more about how adults who speak English as their native language benefit from different speaking styles while listening in noisy environments.

Before testing, you will complete a linguistic and demographic questionnaire. You will also undergo a hearing test to check for normal and near-normal hearing. During the hearing test, you will sit in a quiet room, and listen to sounds presented over earphones. You will be asked to indicate when you hear the sounds. The sounds will be presented in quiet.

During the study, you will be asked to listen to speech presented through earphones and repeat back what you hear. There will be a target speaker, and other people speaking in the background.

Testing could take one or two hours, and you will be compensated for your time.
