The annual Benelect open enrollment period will run Nov. 4-30. Open enrollment is the time when benefits-eligible university employees make decisions regarding their benefits for the upcoming year; the selections made this November will be in effect for the entire 2014 calendar year.
Enrollment kits will be sent out in advance to assist employees in making their benefit selections, so employees are advised to update their campus mailing address in HCM to assure kit delivery.
Each year during open enrollment, the university sponsors the Benefits Fair in Thwing Center. This year, the fair will take place over two days: Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The fair is an opportunity to speak with Benelect insurance carrier representatives, receive a free flu vaccination and hearing screening, and enter the charity basket raffle sponsored by the Staff Advisory Council.
There also will be computers available for faculty and staff members to make their 2014 Benelect elections with benefits staff on-hand to answer questions.
More information will be provided in The Daily as the open enrollment period approaches.
