Begun Center’s Daniel Flannery writes about Ohio’s juvenile justice system

Daniel Flannery, director of the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, co-wrote an op-ed regarding policies he said have failed and undermined Ohio’s juvenile justice system, making communities less safe.

Titled “Mandatory bindover – unfairly turning children into adults,” Flannery’s piece appeared on cleveland.com in June.

“Proposed House Bill 500 would move Ohio towards a fairer system, requiring this critical decision be made through an informed and individualized process, rather than a blanket rule,” he wrote.
