ABC News: Daniel Flannery, director of the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, noted that of the 10,258 gun murders in the U.S. in 2019, handguns were used in 6,368 of them, but added that these numbers may not be exact due to a lack of gun violence research.
