Begun Center researchers receive $400,000 to continue work on violence prevention in Cleveland

Researchers from the Dr. Semi J. and Ruth W. Begun Center at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences received a $200,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and matching contributions from The Cleveland Foundation, Saint Luke’s Foundation and Sisters of Charity Foundation, for a total of $400,000. Thanks to the gift, the researchers can continue their work with Partnership for a Safer Cleveland for two more years.

Begun Center researchers have worked with Partnership for a Safer Cleveland’s STANCE Cleveland initiative to assist public housing officers with violence prevention efforts through a program known as Police Assisted Referrals.
