Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education selected for inaugural partnership award

The Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences—on behalf of Case Western Reserve University—on May 9 accepted the inaugural “Partnership Award” from the Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division at its annual Probation Appreciation Luncheon.

The award, presented by Juvenile Court Administrator Marita Kavalec, recognized the many collaborative projects between the Begun Center and the Juvenile Court. She acknowledged the many staff and faculty from the Begun Center and the Schubert Center for Child Studies who have worked with the court.

“An organization is located in a building somewhere,” Kavalec said, concluding her award presentation, “but it is truly made up of people, and Case Western Reserve University is filled with smart, dedicated, caring people that make our work and our community better.”
