The Center for Civic Engagement and Learning is currently accepting applications for students interested in participating in the 2012-2013 Civic Engagement Scholars program. Students in this program commit to completing at least 50 community service hours during the academic year, with at least 25 hours at one local nonprofit or school. Scholars also attend a series of five different educational programs that enhance their understanding of community and social issues. All Civic Engagement Scholars who successfully complete the program requirements are awarded a Certificate of Distinguished Service by President Barbara Snyder and are invited to a reception at her home at the end of the year.
