David and Richard Stradling, authors of Where the River Burned: Carl Stokes and the Struggle to Save Cleveland, will be at Kelvin Smith Library’s first-floor gallery space on Wednesday, June 19, from 3 to 4 p.m. to discuss Cleveland and the Cuyahoga River’s impact on environmental and social movements.
A question-and-answer session and light reception will follow. Copies of their book will be available for purchase.
This event is co-sponsored by The Ohio Humanities Council, The Xtinguish Celebration, West Creek Conservancy and the Kelvin Smith Library. It is also part of the Xtinguish Celebration, a yearlong schedule of events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the most infamous Cuyahoga River fire in June of 1969.
