Information Technology Services (ITS) will present “New for Spring 2012,” a session that will include an overview of faculty support through existing services and an introduction to new and improved services.
Recent improvements and additions include the continued expansion in the Research Computing offering and the introduction of a Visualization Wall, participation in a new network that allows you to use your CWRU network credentials to log in to other universities’ wireless networks while traveling, continued network improvements at CWRU, exploring the multiple teleconference options on campus including the new TelePresence unit and Active Collaboration Room, and enhanced training options for individual or group settings.
The presentation also will discuss near future improvements, such as a new version of Courseware and expanded academic technology support.
At the next UCITE session, Kirsten Nagel (manager of marketing, communications and training for Information Technology Services) will talk about all these and other new features that are available to faculty members to help with research and teaching, and answer questions about how best to access and use them.
The discussion will take place Jan. 26 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Herrick Room on the ground floor of the Allen Building (immediately on the left if you enter through the Euclid Avenue revolving door).
