To continue the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities fall series, there will be an on-campus screening of the documentary The Queen of Versailles Monday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. in the Wolstein Research Building auditorium.
The whimsical documentary offers an off-center view of a billionaire couple as they begin construction on a mansion inspired by the French palace of Versailles. The film chronicles how their empire—fueled by the real estate bubble and cheap money—falters due to the economic crisis.
Robert Spadoni, associate professor of English, will provide an introduction to the documentary.
This event, which is a part of the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities’ “Interpreting Capitalism” film series, is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended.
