The Master of Public Health program at Case Western Reserve University invites the campus community to recognize National Public Health Week with a film screening and diaper drive for a local nonprofit.
The program will host a screening of Aftershock, a powerful documentary that highlights the perpetual and disproportionate effects of poor maternal health outcomes that have plagued BIPOC communities for generations. Following the screening Dr. Rice, a Case Western Reserve graduate, experienced researcher, and National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF) 40 under 40 Leader in Minority Health, will lead an insightful discussion around maternal health and minority health holistically.
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. The screening is today (April 10) at 5:30 p.m. in Robbins Building, Room E321.
To build on the discussion, the program is hosting a diaper drive to benefit Village of Healing, a local nonprofit that focuses on providing culturally competent care to promote better health outcomes and eliminate health disparities. Diapers sizes 1 and up will be accepted. Newborn size diapers are not being accepted.
A donation bin will be located outside of Wood Building, Suite WG-74, and Thiwng Center through April 20. A donation bin is available in Thwing Center through April 13.
