The Washington Post (subscription required): This story on a controversial school dress code change cited a writing by Einav Rabinovitch-Fox, an assistant professor of American history and women’s and gender history at the College of Arts and Sciences; Rabinovitch-Fox’s piece was about the long history schools had of imposing codes of appearance and behavior, from uniforms to rules of conduct. “Dress codes have usually targeted women and minorities, continuing a long tradition of policing these groups’ appearance and presence in public,” she wrote.
