Arts and Sciences’ Sonya Rhie Mace uses digital modeling to reconstruct ancient Cambodian sculpture

A botched restoration left these ancient Cambodian statues with swapped limbs

Smithsonian Magazine: Sonya Rhie Mace, adjunct professor at the College of Arts and Sciences, discussed how she recently helped solve an 1,500-year-old sculptural jigsaw puzzle using 3D scanning and modeling technology. Researchers corrected the botched restorations of two statues, both of which depict the Hindu deity Krishna as a young boy.
