Elina Gertsman, assistant professor of medieval art, traveled around Europe this summer and fall, giving invited talks at various international conferences.
In June, she was a keynote speaker at the Gender Studies Network annual conference in Helsinki; in July, she spoke in the session on spectacle, held at the International Medieval Congress in Leeds and sponsored by the International Center for Medieval Art; and in September, she was invited to speak in Berlin at a conference dedicated to the Dance of Death imagery, the topic of her recent book. While in Germany, she also spoke at the “Forum Kunst des Mittelalters,” held in Halberstadt.
