Apply to be a part of the 2021’s Train the Champion program

Applications are being accepted for the Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity’s 2021 Train the Champion Program. The program provides an opportunity for staff and faculty from various departments and schools to engage in conversations around diversity and campus issues. It strives to develop diversity champions who will actively work to create a more welcoming and inclusive campus environment.

Program participants meet monthly during 90-minute lunchtime sessions to explore and discuss various dimensions of diversity, such as race, religion, gender, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, and disability issues.

Each year, up to 20 individuals are selected for the program, which begins in January and concludes in November with a graduation ceremony. The Train the Champion Program has been described as informative, valuable and transformative by past participants. Since its inception in 2011, nearly 200 CWRU staff and faculty have completed the program.

The deadline to apply for the 2021 program is Friday, Dec. 11.
