Apply by Feb. 15 for scholarship to Social Network Analysis and Health workshop

The Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is accepting scholarship applications from students and trainees for Social Network Analysis and Health, a one-day workshop with Thomas Valente, professor at the Institute for Prevention Research at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine.

The workshop will enhance participants’ understanding of social network theory and methods, and their application within the field of health research.

Social network analysis is increasingly used by scientists across the prevention-to-treatment continuum to understand the relational dynamics of complex health issues. The goal of the workshop is to introduce this method through case examples that include applications related to a range of chronic and infectious diseases among adult and youth populations.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, May 7, at the Kelvin Smith Library. Up to 10 scholarships are available only for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and other trainees who do not hold a faculty-level appointment.

The deadline for scholarship applications is Feb. 15. The scholarship application is available online.

Regular workshop registration will be available on March 2 ($50 fee required).
