Leonard Gelfand STEM Center offers Shipwreck Camp for youth; applications available now

Applications are now available for the Leonard Gelfand STEM Center’s Shipwreck Camp 2019. This science and exploration experience for 12- to 15-year-old children will take place on weekdays July 8-19 at Case Western Reserve University.

Through the program, campers will:

  • Construct a remotely operated vehicle;
  • Be introduced to SCUBA;
  • Meet shipwreck experts;
  • Learn history about the Great Lakes and shipping;
  • Read a novel; and
  • Engage in hands-on science focused on Lake Erie, shipwrecks and more.

The cost of this two-week camp is $535 and includes all field trips and daily lunch.

The capacity of the camp is 25 campers. A minimum of five staff support all camp activities.
