Support of Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors (SOURCE) announced that Seminar Approach to General Education and Scholarship (SAGES) is offering financial support to enhance capstone experiences. This grant is intended specifically for resources to aid students of any discipline in carrying out their capstone projects.
Applications for fall 2014 funding are being accepted and will be considered on a rolling basis until Friday, Sept. 19, unless the funding is depleted earlier.
Students who are enrolled in or pre-registered for a capstone course can receive up to $250. Group projects can receive funding up to a maximum of $1,000. On the application, students should be as specific as possible concerning the budget description. Funding will be dispersed after all receipts are turned in, due in a single, organized batch by Sept. 19.
Resources are defined broadly to include supplies, travel support, admissions for museums, etc. The SAGES capstone resource grant does not allow stipend support.
To be considered for funding, students must fill out the Online Application Form and the Capstone Mentor Support Form.
SOURCE will record the application and forward it to the SAGES Office. A selection committee will meet regularly and discuss applications. Applications may be selected for immediate approval, put on hold for later consideration, or not approved. Those whose applications are put on hold may be asked to submit additional information. It is expected that applicants will be notified of their final status by Sept. 19.
