Punkaj Ahuja and Patrick Leimkuehler, and their venture, Apollo Medical Devices, recently took home two first place awards at innovation competitions.
In late June, the team took home first place at Techweek Chicago tech conference and festival, receiving $50,000 in cash plus generous ancillary awards.
Just a week prior to their Techweek Chicago award, Apollo Medical Devices finished in first place at the Jumpstart “Up and Comers” pitch competition, part of the “StartUp – ScaleUp” event. The team took home $20,000 for the award.
Apollo Medical Devices has raised more than $100,000 from grants and competitions in the past six months, which the team intends to use for product development for their device—a less expensive, more accurate, rapid and easily used system for blood testing.
