Science: New findings suggest that humans lived at extreme altitudes much earlier than previously known, before genetic adaptations would have aided such lifestyles. “It is fascinating to think of people using the highlands so soon after the occupation of Monte Verde,” said Distinguished University Professor Cynthia Beall.
