Lee Hoffer, associate professor of anthropology and professor of psychiatry, wrote a post for the blog Why Social Science? discussing why he believes the social sciences are important.
His piece is titled “Because it requires confronting the assumptions we have about others.” Through the lens of his own research into illegal drugs and substance abuse disorders, Hoffer explored how social sciences lead researchers in many disciplines to question their relationship with other people.
