Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s contract with LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics provides laboratory testing services at reduced or no cost to Anthem health plan participants.
Anthem Blue Access PPO plan participants: There is no employee cost share when using LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics. That means no deductible, no co-payment and no co-insurance.
Anthem High Deductible plan participants: Any laboratory services received still are subject to deductible and co-insurance. However, because Anthem has negotiated lower rates with LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics, those on the high-deductible plan can minimize out-of-pocket expenses by using the services of these companies.
The provider directory on the Anthem website does not yet contain all of the available locations. Case Western Reserve University employees can make an appointment at a facility by visiting the companies’ websites directly and can ask their doctors’ offices to refer them to a preferred lab when sent for testing.
