The campus community is invited to join the Research Computing and CyberInfrastucture team and University Technology to explore the capabilities for researchers provided through Amazon Web Services (AWS).
AWS is a broad-spectrum cloud services platform with on-demand computing, data storage, content management and delivery services available on a subscription-basis.
This seminar, titled “Amazon Web Services for Research and Education,” will be held today (March 6) from 10 a.m. to noon in Adelbert Hall’s Toepfer Room.
In the session, a research-focused overview of AWS will be provided. It will cover what AWS is, how it works and what research services are offered.
Attendees will learn how to get started with AWS, including a review of pricing structures and highlights of some key AWS services.
There will also be demonstrations of the use of AWS.
This event is open to all members of the research community. No prior experience with cloud computing for research is necessary. Individuals can come learn how cloud-computing resources may enhance their research activities.
