Amanda Shaffer elected as vice-chair of Higher Education Recruitment Consortium national advisory board

The Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) elected Amanda Shaffer, director of the Office of Faculty Development, to serve a two-year term as vice-chair of the Central Advisory Board. She began her term Oct. 26.

Case Western Reserve University is the lead institution for the Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia HERC, which Shaffer directs.

The Central HERC Advisory Board, which provides governance, strategic leadership, evaluation and financial oversight of the national organization, consists of all regional HERC directors as well as an additional representative that is selected by each regional HERC.

HERC, a consortium of over 700 colleges, universities, hospitals, research labs, government agencies and related non- and for-profit organizations, is a non-profit organization with a central coordinating office and seventeen regional offices.
