Mark Weinberger, a dual-degree alum, received the Weatherhead School of Management’s Distinguished Alumni Award from the Weatherhead School and the School of Law. This is the first time an alumnus has received this award from multiple schools.

Since graduating from the law and management schools in 1987, Weinberger has excelled as an attorney. He serves as the global chairman and CEO of Ernst and Young, one of the oldest accounting practitioners and one of the “Big Four” accounting firms.

Weinberger has also served as assistant secretary of the United States Department of the Treasury, a member of the U.S. Social Security Administration Advisory Board and as a prominent leader in his community.

The purpose of the Distinguished Alumni Award is to recognize a graduate with an extensive record of career accomplishments. Recognized alumni are transformational leaders who bring credit to CWRU through their personal accomplishments, professional achievements and global citizenship.
