Students, staff and faculty are welcome to participate in an ALICE program active-shooter training session, which will take place Thursday, Nov. 29, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Next Level Fitness Studio.
The Case Western Reserve University Police Department teaches the ALICE program to give participants insight and response options when encountering an active shooter. The program takes a real look into an active-shooter situation and teaches students, staff and faculty what tactical advantages they have that could keep them alive if a situation might occur. The program is divided into five steps and every step is important. ALICE stands for alert, lockdown, inform, counter and evacuate.
Participants in this class will not learn fighting techniques. The program is designed to teach survival strategies that will save lives in the event of an active shooter situation.
Space is limited. Register through Constant Contact.
A second ALICE training opportunity will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at One to One Fitness Center.
